Update OCTOBER 10, 2020 is Here

COVID-19 update Posted 9/21/20.

Starting on October 15th, 2020 the government of the Bahamas plans to reopen all major hotels and resorts, including beaches, and resume more frequent flights, even from the USA.

‘VIP’ Rules
The new ‘VIP’ entry rules stand for ‘Vacation in Place’, which is a clever way for the Bahamas to pitch a 14-day quarantine as a luxury experience.

The rules basically state that you fly into the Bahamas, you are taken directly to your hotel, and you will stay there for a full 14 days, or the entire length of your trip if shorter. Once on the property, guests can enjoy the pool, beach, spa, gym, restaurant, and all other amenities, making it feel less like a quarantine and more like a true vacation.

All travelers must present proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test when completing their Travel Health Visa. The test result can not be older than 5 days prior to the date of arrival.

THE LATEST UPDATE: STREAMED NATIONAL ADDRESS BY PRIME MINISTER
DR. HUBERT MINNIS. JULY 19, 2020. IS HERE

COVID-19 effectively closed air travel to the Bahamas and will resume JULY 1st. UNTIL FURTHURE NOTICE

COVID-19,  AKA Coronavirus finds its way to the Bahamas early in the year. As you know, many Chinese have arrived in the Bahamas, mostly Nassau as a result of joint corporative economic efforts of both countries. This is not to say American travelers aiding in the Dorian rebuilding effort in Abaco couldn’t have contributed to the virus spread also.

The Bahamian government has confirmed multiple positive cases of COVID-19 in The Bahamas. As a result on March 24 the Office of the Prime Minister of The Bahamas announced a new Emergency Order includes closing all airports in The Bahamas to incoming international flights carrying visitors, and closing all seaports to international and regional seafaring and private boating.

Obviously this notice supersedes our Hurricane Dorian Recovery Page.
